're live in green brain -- greenbrae this morning, alex savidge, ktvu channel 2 news. >> thank you, alex. >>> rising creek waters flooded roadways an temporarily closed highway 101. it happened on the peninsula in a creek that overflowed its banks. janine de la vega is live at the creek to show us some of the damage. >> reporter: well, we're right here on the border of palo alto and east palo alto. this is highway 101 and the creek flows right underneath it and the water was so high last night that it was flashing up over and onto the freeway. this is video of that same area of what it looked like last night. water was flooding on 101, north of the embarcadero. the highway patrol was helping motorists with traffic breaks. the creek crested at university avenue and woodland. the water spilled over and into the entrance of the four seasons hotel. fire officials say even though there was not massive damage, they remain worried about the creek. >> we need to work on these holes in this levy. can't leave it like this especially since we're early in the winter and this is the second significan

bay area news coverage starts right now. this is ktvu mornings on 2. >> good morning. i'm brian flores. >> good morning. i'm claudine wong. we are back on storm watch this back here in the bay area there. have been several big downpours in the past few hours and mark joining us now to tell us what is happening now and what we can expect later today > >> the heaviest rain on live storm tracker 2. there is the live sweep showing you the current rainfall pattern and scatter around parts of the north bay. we will continue to show you this. just out toward san leandro. approaching san ramone, a few scattered rain showers, not to major for this part of the bay area. we will move the maps down closer to santa cruz, increasing rain closer to santa cruz and the south bay. you will seat yellows and reds flaring up. leafier rain, sunnyvale. all the areas, the yellows indicate the increase in the rainfall rates, also shifting the maps here, close in on fremont around stevenson boulevard and cherry street. especially the darker shades of green. they link up with heavier rain. with the down
